Espen Malmo

Managing Partner & Co-founder

As a Skyfall co-founder, Espen has been instrumental in the development of the firm from a loosely organized angel network into a venture firm with multiple funds under management. To date, he has evaluated more than 10,000 startups, and led and been closely involved in many of Skyfall's investments, such as Riff, Firi, Parahelp, and Starflow.

Long before crypto was mainstream, Espen was already deep in the weeds. In his Master’s thesis — written in 2012/2013 — he explored the technical and economic foundations of Bitcoin and blockchain. With a Master’s degree in cyber security and data communication (ComTech) from NTNU and UCLA, Espen approaches venture investing with a technical mindset and a systems-level perspective.

Espen is deeply engaged in several emerging domains and, beyond blockchain, is particularly inspired by how artificial intelligence and energy tech are poised to reshape the future.

Jon Kåre Stene

Partner & Co-founder

As one of the founders at Skyfall, Jon Kåre brings deep operational experience and a strong founder perspective. He was part of the iconic founding team of Norway’s first unicorn, Oda, where he served as COO and played a key role in scaling the company from scratch to a team of 500 people. Through rapid growth, he helped build Oda into a world-class online grocery company with a highly efficient logistics and distribution operation.

Before Oda, Jon Kåre spent eight years at Schibsted, one of the Nordics' most iconic media and marketplaces companies. There, he worked on digital transformation, strategy, and process improvement across several of Schibsted’s core businesses.

At Skyfall, Jon Kåre has been closely involved in developing the portfolio across sectors such as logistics, enterprise software, bioinformatics, and gaming. His background gives him a sharp eye for scaling operations and a deep appreciation for the challenges founders face as they grow. Jon Kåre is a visionary investor who thrives on meeting ambitious founders, inspiring them to think bigger and move faster. He is especially excited by technology that redefines industries and builds a better future at scale.

Preben Songe-Møller

Partner & Co-founder

As one of the founders of Skyfall, Preben has been part of building the firm from day zero. He led Skyfall’s first investment and was among the earliest backers of Norway’s first unicorn, Oda.

Preben's entrepreneurial journey began during the dot-com era, when he founded Ibistic, a B2B SaaS company backed by Northzone Ventures. Since then, he has founded several other technology and services companies. One of these, Sprint Consulting—a leading Norwegian management consulting firm—has provided him with deep, hands-on experience in evaluating and selecting from among thousands of young talents, as well as valuable insight into the inner workings of large corporations across domains such as management, procurement, HR, finance, marketing and logistics.

Preben is a generalist investor with a strong passion for domains where technology - and especially AI - is reshaping industries and customer experiences, including consumer platforms, HR tech, energy tech, cybersecurity, edtech, and robotics.

Cecilie Skjong

Investment Manager

As Investment Manager at Skyfall, Cecilie plays a central role in shaping the firm’s portfolio. She has full oversight of Skyfall’s deal flow - evaluating close to 20 new startups every week and guiding the most promising opportunities from initial screening to final investment offer.

Before joining Skyfall, Cecilie was Director of Corporate Development at industrial SaaS company Aize, where she was part of the team from its earliest days. Prior to that, she spent five years as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, advising clients on strategy, operations, and technology across a wide range of industries.

Cecilie holds a Master of Science in engineering and industrial economics from NTNU and MIT, with a focus on optimization theory and hydropower systems—giving her deep domain knowledge in energy production and grid infrastructure. She is an investor with notable strength in industrial tech, AI, and energy tech, and known for her strong relationship-building skills and exceptional network across startups, scaleups, consulting, and the investor ecosystem.
